I know that no one visits my site, but I’ll post this all the same:

Hey guys! I’m not trying to be annoying here, since asking for money never flew well with me, but in this case, I’m pretty much popping towards desperation.

I’ve begun to get involved with a group called the 501st Legion, a costuming organization who does great things for charities ranging from Cancer to Breast Cancer research and above and beyond.

The reason I post this is because the costume I seek costs a lot of money. I’m not normally a beggar, but… I’m poor, and I want to get involved and start helping charities desperately. It really feels like something I’m called to.

And if you’re wondering the organization, it’s called the 501st Legion, and they do a ton of great work. If you ever need some Star Wars characters for an event, go request them there.

Anyways, seriously, if you want to donate to me for my costume, everything that comes to me through this goes straight to the costume.

I will be using the costume to go “trooping,” wearing the armor to events and assist those charities with the group that is the 501st. Unfortunately I can’t be an official member until I get armor done, but I can still volunteer, so it’s not the end of the world if I can’t get it until later.

Thank you guys for reading this. Please don’t think I’m a bum - I’m just trying to do what I can to give back to the world that’s given me as much as it has.

Edit: I just re-read this and I’m afraid I might’ve come across as condescending or something. I really don’t intend it that way. Gah, it’s really hard to articulate the way I feel about this organization and what they do. They’re really good people, and I want to do the good they do. I hope you understand.

I would be happy to send you a money order, and you can send the monitor to my wife, who is serving as a missionary in Africa. Metrocon logo

I’ve returned from Metrocon 2008 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida. I did a huge amount of picture taking and idea gathering (as well as some goodies that I may use in contests here on the site). I’ll be posting my pictures soon in a gallery somewhere, so keep an eye out for it!

This was a cool convention, and it’s Florida’s largest Anime convention. While I’m not a huge anime fan, they did have their fair share of game cosplayers/costumes and game fandom there that kept me satisfied.

Anywho, I’m back from the three-day foray, and I’m quite pleased!
